CAPo PELORO NATURE RESERVE

The Natural Reserve of Capo Peloro Lagoon is a protected natural area of the Sicilian Region established in 2001. It occupies an area of 68.12 ha and is managed by the Province of Messina. The Lago di Capo Peloro is also a site of international importance, included in the UNESCO Water Project of 1972, and a site of national importance recognized by the Italian Botanical Society. More than 400 aquatic species live within the nature reserve, of which at least ten are endemic.
